On October 2nd , 2018, Goldie was born at four pounds and nine ounces, but you wouldn’t even be able to tell that now. She’s grown so much, and she’s so strong. Goldie was two years old when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
We found out because her feet were hurting so badly, she wouldn’t even walk on them, and she started crawling again. I just knew something was wrong. Goldie received her diagnosis of ALL on April 26th , 2021, and I will never forget that day! Hearing the words your child has cancer was beyond shocking.
Goldie has been taking treatment at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. I am amazed at how well she has been doing going through daily chemotherapy. I know we have a long road ahead with harsh daily chemotherapy and traveling out of town for treatment for two and a half years.
One thing has not changed; Goldie is still my happy baby girl as she was before the devastating cancer diagnosis.
